Our Healthcare Team

The team behind
every treatment.

Precision radiation oncology is a team effort. Behind every consultation at AARO is a coordinated group of specialists — radiation oncologists, radiation therapists, medical physicists, oncology nurses and care coordinators — each bringing a distinct expertise to your care.

Our Healthcare Team · Who's who

Five roles, one plan.

Every person you meet at AARO has a defined part to play — and they work as a single team around you, not a series of handovers. Here's who does what.

Radiation Oncologists

The specialist doctors who lead your care. They diagnose, decide the treatment strategy, contour the exact target on your scans, and stay with you from the first consultation through follow-up. At AARO, every oncologist sub-specialises by cancer type.

Radiation Therapists

The professionals who deliver your treatment day to day. They position you with millimetre precision, run the daily image guidance that verifies the target, and operate the linear accelerator — the familiar, reassuring faces you see at every session.

Medical Physicists

The scientists behind the accuracy. They optimise each treatment plan, calculate and independently verify the radiation dose, and perform the rigorous machine quality-assurance checks that make precision radiation safe — mostly unseen, always essential.

Oncology Nurses

The clinical support at the heart of your treatment experience. They monitor your wellbeing through the course, manage side effects, answer the questions that come up between appointments, and provide the human care that makes a hard time easier.

Care Coordinators

The people who keep everything running smoothly. They schedule your appointments, verify your insurance and financing, coordinate between sites and specialists, and make sure nothing falls through the cracks — so you can focus on getting well.

Our Healthcare Team · How it works

How the team works together.

From the first plan to the final session, each role hands its expertise to the next — so your treatment is precise, safe and supported at every step.

Step 01

Your oncologist plans

Your radiation oncologist reviews your imaging and pathology, decides the strategy, and contours the precise target and the healthy organs to protect.

Step 02

Physicists optimise & verify

Medical physicists translate the plan into a deliverable dose — optimising beam angles and independently checking every parameter before sign-off.

Step 03

Therapists deliver

Radiation therapists position you accurately, run daily image guidance, and deliver each treatment session on the linear accelerator.

Nurses & coordinators support

Throughout, oncology nurses manage your wellbeing and side effects while care coordinators handle scheduling, financing and logistics.

Our Healthcare Team · Why it matters

Continuity of care.

Because our team is small and coordinated, the same people stay with you throughout. The consultant who explains your plan is the one who oversees it. The therapists who position you on day one are there on your last day too.

That continuity means fewer repeated conversations, fewer things falling through the cracks, and a team that genuinely knows your case — and you.

Our Healthcare Team · The doctors

Led by sub-specialists.

Your care is led by one of our four senior radiation oncologists, each sub-specialised by cancer type — so whatever your diagnosis, you're seen by a consultant who focuses on it.
