01 — Precision Radiation

Targeted radiation, minimising damage to healthy tissue.

Radiation therapy has changed fundamentally — modern techniques can target tumours to within millimetres, spare surrounding organs, and deliver a full course in as few as one to five sessions. These are the modalities AARO specialises in.

Flagship · Single or few sessions

Stereotactic Radiosurgery (SRS)

High-dose, precisely targeted radiation delivered to brain, spine and selected body tumours — without a surgical incision. Often completed in one session.

Typical course · 1–3 sessions
Flagship · Body tumours

Stereotactic Body Radiotherapy (SBRT)

The body counterpart to SRS — highly focused beams treat lung, liver, prostate, kidney and oligometastatic disease with a short intensive course.

Typical course · 3–5 sessionsLearn about SBRT →

Proton Therapy

Proton beams stop precisely at the tumour — no exit dose, significantly sparing organs beyond. Preferred for paediatric and complex adult cases.

Available on-site

IMRT / VMAT

Intensity-modulated and volumetric arc therapy — the workhorse of modern radiation, shaping dose precisely around complex tumour volumes.

Available on-site

Brachytherapy

Radioactive sources placed temporarily inside or adjacent to a tumour — delivers high local dose with rapid fall-off, protecting surrounding tissue.

Used across all modalities

Image-Guided RT (IGRT)

Real-time imaging before and during each fraction to confirm tumour position, accounting for breathing and organ movement session to session.

Available on-site

3D Conformal RT

Three-dimensional beam shaping matched to tumour anatomy — foundational RT technique used when simpler field arrangements are most appropriate.

Pre-treatment procedure

SpaceOAR Hydrogel

A biodegradable gel spacer injected between the prostate and rectum before SBRT — significantly reducing rectal dose and long-term side effects.

02 — Precision Oncology

Medicines that work across the whole body.

Some cancers are best treated with a combination of radiation and systemic therapy — or with systemic therapy alone. Our medical oncologists work alongside our radiation team, so you don't need to coordinate between practices.

Systemic therapy

Immunotherapy

Harnesses the immune system to recognise and attack cancer cells. Used across many solid tumours, including lung, head and neck, and melanoma.

Systemic therapy

Targeted Therapy

Precision drugs that block specific molecular pathways driving cancer growth — matched to your tumour's genetic profile.

Systemic therapy

Chemotherapy

Cytotoxic drugs — used alone or as a radiosensitiser alongside radiation, depending on cancer type and stage.

Systemic therapy

Hormone Therapy

Blocks hormones that fuel certain cancers — most commonly used in prostate and breast cancer, often alongside radiation.

Radionuclide therapy

Theranostics

Diagnostic isotopes find cancer sites; therapeutic isotopes (Lu-177, Ac-225) then destroy them — the same target, two steps, one treatment.

03 — Specialist Clinics

Specialist clinics, run by dedicated multidisciplinary teams.

Each specialist clinic brings together the specific expertise, protocols and technologies relevant to one type of cancer or care need. Clinics run on fixed schedules — our team can advise which clinic fits your situation.

What makes our clinics different: each is led by a named specialist, runs to a defined clinical protocol, and includes multidisciplinary review where needed — not a general consultation under a specialist label.

Specialist Clinic — Treatment
Brain & Spine

Radiosurgery Clinic

SRS for brain and spine tumours — single or staged sessions. Covers primary tumours and metastatic disease, coordinated with neurosurgery.

Lung

Lung Cancer Clinic

SBRT for early-stage lung cancer and lung oligometastases — a non-surgical option reviewed with respiratory physicians.

Breast

Breast Cancer Clinic

Post-operative and definitive radiation for breast cancer, including accelerated partial breast irradiation and nodal treatment.

Prostate

Prostate Cancer Clinic

Ultra-hypofractionated SBRT for localised prostate cancer — comparable cure rates to surgery in five sessions or fewer.

Liver

Liver Cancer Clinic

SBRT for primary liver cancer and liver oligometastases, with real-time motion tracking and hepatobiliary surgical input.

Cervical

Cervical Cancer Clinic

Combined external beam radiotherapy and brachytherapy for cervical cancer — following international curative-intent protocols.

Kidney

Kidney Cancer Clinic

SBRT for renal cell carcinoma — a non-surgical alternative for patients unsuitable for or declining nephrectomy.

Radionuclide

Theranostics Clinic

Lu-177 PSMA for prostate cancer and Ac-225 for selected cases — from diagnostics through treatment planning to therapy.

Specialist Clinic — Supportive Care
Side effects

Radiation Side Effects Clinic

Managing acute and late effects of radiation — skin reactions, fatigue, bowel, bladder and beyond.

Recovery

Hyperbaric Oxygen (HBOT)

Accelerated healing for radiation-damaged tissue — wounds, osteoradionecrosis, late radiation injury.

Rehab

Rehab & Dietetics Clinic

Physiotherapy, occupational therapy, and nutritional support integrated into your treatment plan.

Wound care

Wounds & Wellness Clinic

Specialist wound care for cancer-related and post-treatment wounds, including fungating wounds.
